Not exactly a solo. There are prominently 2 more singers here, Are they just chorus? Same as urs HT??- But this is definately not Lata.

Shayad mere liye especially banaya tha Asrani sahab ne ye version Now I need to search that file. Apna db mein aisa hi entry maara hai.

Lagta hai yeh koi doctored version hai. No wonder I did not re-tag and put it away safely.

This is either two songs combined into one deliberately or one song being taken as two separates by VN.
The first 2 minutes of of the 8.42 is the same what Sangeet has upl'd and rest is the common one.

Correct, the first 2 mins are one song and rest is a different song. Even the moods sounds soo different. Must have been used in different situations in movie.

BUT, what a song!!! I love the way Dada start 'Dil Ka Saathi.....'. Kitni meeeeethi aawazz re!!!

Yes true. If you notice, there is a short break after the first 2 minutes of the 8:42 song and than the normal song starts, that tells me there are actually 2 songs there.
