Regards Soumik Soumik, I am going to be out for a few weeks and will not be able to cater for your requests until I come back. It is a good thing that you are not in a hurry. I will start uploading the albums, one at a time, when I am back. Thanks. Cheers, S This post has been edited by swarapriya: Oct 20 2015, 09:35 PM |

(Dev) Funtoosh (1956)
Here is yet another beautiful album from the combination of Burmanda and Sahir Saab. Sahir Saab paints a whole spectrum of rainbow colors with his poetry for these songs depicting different moods of gait, laughter, pathos, romance, exhilaration, tease, and serene sanity. I do have a favorite from this album. It is Kishoreda's solo "Dukhi Mann Mere". There is so much power in the words, so much deep pathos in Kishoreda's voice, and such a stirring composition by Burmanda, it leaves one spellbound. It is a relentlessly heart wrenching song. I read somewhere that the song "Aye Meri Topi" was actually composed by R.D. when he was only nine years old. Incredible! Dev’s older brother Chetan wrote the screenplay, dialogues, and directed this movie. His younger brother Vijay, who appeared in a brief role near the beginning of the movie, was an assistant director of the film along with Amarjeet. Amarjeet, a close friend of Dev, who directed several of Dev’s movies like “Hum Dono (1961)” and “Teen Deviyan (1965)” and others was responsible for the story. Assistant music director was Jaidev (Verma). Comedian Mahmood, who was still struggling to find his niche, appeared in a song, “Dene Waala”, with Dev in the middle of the movie. Another interesting note. If you listen closely to the music clip, “An Escape Attempt” that I am uploading in the third post, you will notice that it begins with the tune of the famous song “Jaaye Toh Jaaye Kahaan”, again by Sahir, from Dev’s earlier film “Taxi Driver (1954)” which also had music by Burmanda. I am uploading all the songs, music clips and a few instrumentals in three back-to-back posts. In the first post I am including most of the songs from the film. Asha’s song “Pyaar Ne” for some reason was left out of the final movie. This beautiful song was introduced to me by our Forum member Viraj Padhye. Thank you Viraj. This song is widely available now. The one I am including here is from a video (no film but audio only). It is in the first post. The second post contains four music bits from the film. I am unsure about the singers for three of these. If any of our members can throw light on this please do. Thank you. This post also contains several instrumentals of the song “Dukhi Mann Mere”. Finally, the movie offered several situations for a fine background musical score. I tried to capture these through 12 music clips. These are in the third post. Here are the songs in the first post... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Jan 22 2016, 10:08 PM Attached image(s) ![]() Attached File(s) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

(Kishore) Adhikar (1954)
The movie tells the story of a widowed father (played by Kishoreda) who woos another woman and marries her without ever telling her about his past. When she discovers the truth complications arise. The song “Ek Dharti” sung separately by Asha and Meena Kapoor is a standout from the film. Here are these two songs and others from this film… This post has been edited by swarapriya: Jan 13 2016, 10:21 AM Attached image(s) ![]() Attached File(s) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Dear Swarapriya, Thanks for uploading the requested albums.... Meanwhile i have certain doubts about the songs from the movie Funtoosh. Since you have the DVD of this movie, could you please re-check it to clear my doubts???? 1. Is there any song "Apna Bhi Ghar Is Jahaan Mein" (duration 1:03 mins) sung by KK exist in this movie??? I have this song in my collection but I am not sure whether this belongs to Funtoosh or not. 2. Is the song "Kabhi Tera Darr" a prelude of the main song "Woh Dekhen Toh Unki Inaayat"??? Regards Soumik |

Regards Soumik You are welcome. 1. No. This song is not in the DVD I have. I also do not have it in my music library. May be someone of our learned friends can help us resolve this. 2. Yes. "Kabhi Tera Darr" is indeed the prelude. It was about a minute before the song "Woh Dekhen". It happened in the heroines's house. The song "Woh Dekhen" was picturized as the couple took a boat ride. Cheers, S |
