Both these recordings of Jaddan Bai are from Columbia VE 1701 record.

As per the record, these are Thumris in Raag Durga.
The problem in correctly identifying the voices
of such old records is that generally the uploads are very heavily filtered
and choked with tempered tempo. They give an entirely different impression
when you compare the voice with the original records.

Can any body kindly upload songs from film Sawan aaya re 1947 again here....khawar

Khawar Saheb, here is the requested full album of Sawan Aaya Re (1949)

Movie: Sawan Aaya Re (1949)
Music: Khemchand Prakash
Lyrics: Bharat Vyas, Arzoo Lucknawi, Gulshan Jalalabadi & Rammurti Chaturvedi

All tracks are in MP3--128 kbps and track duration is provided in the track listing:

01-3.20-Aya aya re sawan-Amir Bai-Lyrics: Rammurti chaturvedi
02-3.35-Aye dil na mujhe yaad dila-Mohd. Rafi & Shamshad Begum-Lyrics: Bharat Vyas
03-2.24-Baghon meinh aule haule-Shamshad Begum-Lyrics: Bharat Vyas
04-2.52-Khushi ki aas rahi-Khan Mastana-Lyrics: Arzu Lackhnawi
05-3.29-Main to chanda si gori-Shamshad Begum-Lyrics: Gulshan Jalalabadi
06-3.06-Nahin fariyad karte ham-Shamshad Begum-Lyrics: Bharat Vyas
07-3.23-Pahne peeli rang sari-Amir Bai-Lyrics: Rammurti Chaturvedi

That should be Lalita Deulkar and chorus.

Yes Mahesh Bhai as per Earthmusic.net its Lalita Deolkar but I have heard the song again I feel its Amir Bai Karnataki. I will check with Dr. Mahesh Bhai as he has also given the singer to be Amir Bai when uploaded the album.

Mohd. M.

Mohd Bhai I have not downloaded the song but I heard the song available with
me from the 78 rpm record and then posted my views.

I have not heard the movie version for quite a bit of time. May be, the movie
version was sung by Amirbai. Is that a movie version uploaded by you? In
such a case, records are to be kept straight after hearing the movie version.

How are the things at your end?

Did you view the waveform ?
Forget everything else.. atleast for the time being.
I am interested to know how could the audio wave
be shifted above or below the Zero Crossing
Point. Here the audio is mostly above the ZC resultng
in some compression at the top.

Saw it. It happens when you try to increase the lower frequencies or bass
more than the permissible limits. This is the reason that in the uploaded
song you hear an excessive humming.

The record is of early 30s and hence recorded at lower bias, as prevalent at that time
due to lack of advanced technology. Any increase in the bias, as is the instant
case, would give humming.

Corrected it and now download and listen.

Well done.
By the way... it is a ghazal and not a Thumri. Record label
is in error.

Yes Mahesh Bhai the one I have uploaded is movie version and I have not heard the record version.

When you get time just post the clip of the record version and I am sure there should be 2 different singer versions recorded for 78rpm and movie.
