Lyrics for the songs of this film were written by the father and son team of Anjaan and Sameer. I don't have a breakdown of who wrote what. Please kindly share this if you can. Thanks. Anyway, here are the songs from this album...

Thank you very much Sangeetji for sharing the information. Cheers. -S

(Rekha) Janbaaz (1986)

Here is a popular album from Kalyanji & Anandji. This movie introduced two new singers, Sapna Mukherjee and Mahesh Gadhavi. The duet of Sapna and Kishoreda, "Tera Saath Hai Kitna Pyaara", is the one to remember for ages. It is one of those romantic songs that sticks to your heart and lingers like the fragrance of a freshly bloomed beautiful flower even as the time passes by. Apparently this is the only duet they sang together. What a gem it is. Something to treasure.

Rekha made a guest appearance as a cabaret dancer in this film.

I am uploading this and other songs from an original soundtrack album of this film in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set...

(Hema) Sachche Ka Bol-Bala (1989)

This movie was written, produced and directed by Dev Anand. I don't believe it fared that well at the box-office but it has some good songs composed by Bappi Lahiri. My favorite song of the album is "Tanha Main Akela" by Kishoreda. Another fine song is the duet by Asha and Kishoreda, "Ye Hawaayen". I am uploading these and other songs from this film in two back-to-back posts.

Here is the first set of songs...

(Rekha) Locket (1986)

There are a couple of nice songs in this Bappida album. The Usha Uthup number, "Aa Main Gul Badan", may be a typical fare of hers, but is still pretty nice to listen to. Another nice one is the duet by Preeti Sagar and Suresh Wadkar, "Jo Bhi Kehna". Sagar's voice sounds so different from the songs we hear everyday and that in itself adds to its appeal. Too bad she didn't get to sing many songs for the films.

If you pay close attention to the song "Jo Bhi Kehna" you will notice that part of its music from 3:50 to 4:08 time frame sounds very familiar. It was borrowed from the Husnlal & Bhagatram composed hit song "Chup Chup Khade Ho Zaroor Koi Baat Hai" from the 1949 film "Bari Bahen". That beautiful and memorably melodious song was sung by Lata and Premlata.

Here are these and other songs from this album...

My Dear Saurabh Ji,

You're right on both counts. It was partly a tagging error and partly oversight on my part. I have made proper changes to the uploads to reflect your recommendations by rectifying the problems mentioned. My sincere apologies to one member who downloaded Lata's song thinking it is from this album..

Thank you very much again Saurabh for catching my errors.

Cheers,
S

(Hema) Lekin (1990)

“Lekin” is based on a short story by Rabindranath Tagore. Its screenplay and some of the lyrics were written by Gulzarji, who also directed the movie. The movie was co-produced by Hridyanath Mangeshkar, the composer of this film.

The movie bagged multiple richly deserved National Film Awards. Lata won for the haunting melody, the stirring song “Yaara Seeli Seeli” as the Best Female Playback Singer. Gulzarji won for its lyrics the Best Lyricist Award. For the same song and other beautiful songs from the film, Hridyanath Mangeshkar won the Best Music Director Award. Nitish Roy won for the Best Art Direction. Finally to round up the Natonal Film Awards, Bhanu Athaiya won for the Best Costume Design. Gulzarji also won for “Yaara Seeli Seeli” the Filmfare Award as the Best Lyricist.

I am uploading songs from this film from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs in the first post…
