Raz,

Thanks for the 3min audio.
In this audio, the 1:30min song appears to be repeating itself; it doesn't have extra stanza.

For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness.

Thank you for posting these songs.

Two more songs composed for this movie appear on Madan Mohan website:

a) an earlier recording of 'Meri Aankhon Se' - with a somewhat different orchestral arrangement featuring Santoor pieces in addition to the Sitar ones. The web-site narrates how, a few weeks after this original recording, the ever-perfectionist Madan Mohanji felt the interludes could be scored differently and hence re-recorded the song.

a) a song later shelved from the film (Mujhe Apni Akhiyan, De De O Pyare Panchhi) because of some script changes.

I am posting them below.

Best wishes,

Kishore Kumar

Attached: Mujhe Apni Akhiyan De De O Pyare Panchhi - Lata - 3:22- 160kbps
Meri Aankhon Se Koi Neend Liye Jaata Hai (first version)- Lata - 3:07 - 160kbps

(Vyjayanti) Zindagi (1964)

This huge hit from Gemini Studios was based on a Telugu & Tamil hit. Ramanand Sagar (who became famous with "Ramayan" TV episodes) directed the movie. Big highlight of the movie was its music by Shankar & Jaikishan. As was the case with most movies made by Gemini, this movie also boasted many songs and almost all of them became popular. Another highlight was a scene in the movie in which Prithviraj Kapoor lifts his ill son Rajendra Kumar and carries him downstairs in both of his hands. There were quite a number of stairs and the camera is shown in a long distance shot with Kapoor Saab carrying his son down those stairs without any problem what so ever. At least I thought no substitute was used for Kapoor Saab. If it indeed was genuine, in my opinion it was quite a scene to watch.

I am uploading these songs in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs...
