Just to set your mind at rest, I've uploaded the duet at:
http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...72&#entry269372

It's entirely my pleasure! biggrin.gif

Mind you, it's a beautiful duet, and well worth downloading. I'd not hesitate a moment to include it among Lata-ji's best duets.

Ur pleasure, eh? What abt the duet I asked U for? angry.gif

As others have pointed out, the song is indeed a Lata/Talat duet. "Sangdil" has
2 of Lata's best songs, this duet with Talat and the other is the solo "Woh to chale
gaye ae dil". Over-all a very very very good soundtrack (including the Asha/Geeta
duet that I am very fond of).

Woh to chale gaye aye dil is a lovely song but Asha's dard bhari kisi ki yaad is no less composition wise or singing wise. Pity it is not available in cdq on compilations. sad1.gif

Sorry Priya. No dice on this one. The Lata duet and solo are far superior
in my opinion. The Lata/Sajjad combo was truly different. There weren't
that many songs, but some of them are just awesome. The other example
being "Ae dilruba" from "Rustom Sohrab". As much as I love the Asha
solo in that film, it is not a patch on the Lata solo.

Hmmmm. I honestly believe that our familiarity with a song and the quality in which we get to hear music determines our appreciation of what we hear. I think dard bhari kisi ki yaad is a very underated number.

Agree abt Rustom Sohrab.

I would love to add one more gem of Lata & Sajjad (excuse me Priyaji for talking about Lata in Asha forum, but since topic has come-out ...)

Film - Khel- 'Bhool Ja Aye Dil Muhabbat Ka Fasaana' is equally worth.
As far as 'Aye Dilruba' concerns, Sajjad Sahab has pulled out all the capabilities from Lata. No one else can sing this song except her.

Seems the error was HMV's in including the song in a Talat/Asha duets cassette since it was a Talat/Lata duet.

Priya:
Some time back I'd uploaded the video in the LM forum.

No wonder I have not heard it. HMV made such an error. planet.gif
Thanks for the clarification.

Dear Shri Unni Ji

Thanks for the correction about the Sangdil song. I do have its VCd, which I will now watch more carefully for the song.

Starting 1956 with 2 solos from Kala Chor.

One has the famous horse-hoof rhythm laugh.gif and is a lovely foottapper while the otehr is soft and romantic. wub.gif

Sardul Kwatra, the Punjabi MD was one of the first to give Asha a chance.
