Thanks Mahesh for this rare photograph.
She seems very graceful in the photograph and in her younger days she could have given a lot of inferiority complex to leading ladies of 30's. Although her acting career was dominated by mythologicals and in her later days, roles of typical Indian mother. She was one of those who combined good looks with fantastic singing ability. And although, I am not aware of movies, other than Shehnaz (1948), for which she composed music but that one musical score alone demonstrates that she was a very fine music composer. Wonder whether anyone can upload her "Aye Nigah - e - Yaar Tera Shukriya" and that great Rafi solo (can't remember the lyrics at the moment). Pradeep |
