(Nutan) Humlog (1951)

I am re-uploading the songs from this fine album on request...

THank you!

"Bahey Ankhiyon Se Dhaar" is a real gem! One of Lata's best sadly underrated!

And the rest of the soundtrack is great too with the Western inspired "Bogi Bogi" et all.

The Mukesh song "Apni Nazar" seems to predict the classic hit of Gumrah!

You're welcome. Cheers. -S

(Mala) Badshah (1954)

I am re-uploading these songs from the director Amiya Chakraborty ("Daag (1952)", "Dekh Kabira Roya (1957)", and "Kathputli (1957)") on request. I am including a special version of "Rula Kar" with a few seconds introduction (aalaap) by Lata. Some of these songs are thanks to the courtesy of the Forum members...

Dear S'Priyaji,

Thanks for these rare tracks.
The first track "Aa Neele Gagan Tale Pyar" is not from OST but one from the Revival Series (Digital rerecorded).
May be due to oversight.
Hear is the track.

Dur 3.36 320 kbps

My Dear Hemji,

It is quite possible that I made a tagging error and hence unintended mistake crept in. Thank you very much for your OST song. Appreciate the assist.

Cheers,
S

(Nutan) Naam (1986)

Rajendra Kumar and his son and actor Kumar Gaurav produced this movie in the hope of reviving career for Gaurav. Instead, Sanjay Dutt, who played the younger brother to Gaurav, became a star portraying a hard on luck young man who faces all kinds of problems with law in a foreign country where he went pursuing a better life. In real life Dutt and Gaurav are brothers-in-law.

Mahesh Bhatt directed this gripping drama. David Dhawan, who later became a popular director making several hit comedies, was the editor.

One of the greatest songs about the life out of this country was penned by the prodigal lyricist Anand Bakshi Saab. “Chitthi Aayee Hai” was sang by and performed on the screen by the ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas. This became a signature song in his repertoire and one of the favorites with audience everywhere whenever he gave concerts. The song ("nazm") appeared in various lengths in at least a half-a-dozen albums I am aware of. I will not be surprised if there are more. I am including a live version of this nazm at a lower bit rate (converted because of the length and space limitations in this post) here.

I am uploading all songs from this film from an original soundtrack album. Here are these…

(Waheeda) Himmatwala (1983)

This hit Hindi film was based on the Telugu hit "Ooriki Monagaadu" made in 1981. Sridevi appeared in few Hindi movies before but this was the movie that made her a star in Hindi films. This movie made by Padmalaya Studios, which is owned by the Telugu actor Krishna, became a template for series of movies he made starring Jeetendra with either Sridevi or Jayaprada or sometimes both in the female leads. The formula never deviated. They all had music by Bappi Lahiri. Indeewar always wrote lyrics. Most songs were duets, sung by Asha and Kishore. Even actors like Kader Khan and Shakti Kapoor who were in all of these movies were used as comic villains. Sometimes Amjad Khan appeared, again as a comic villain. The director for most movies was also the same person, K. Raghavendra Rao.

The songs from this film became super hits. With Jeetendra swinging and jumping, the movie was entertaining. My favorite from the album is the duet by Lata and Kishoreda, "Nainon Mein Sapna". A lovely song with Bappi's stamp all over it. It is interesting he has Lata sing this song as most of his duets were sung by Asha and Kishore.

I will upload songs from the Telugu film in this thread following these songs. Here are the swinging and fun-filled songs from this film...

Hi Swarapriya-ji

Many thanks for the live version of Chithi aayi re. Do you perhaps also have the original

Hi,

The original song from the album was also uploaded with the above song in the same post. I am sure that is what you are referring to. May be you missed it. Please take a look at this again.

Cheers,
