Exon Thanks Exon. I made the changes to the table to reflect your suggestion. Cheers. -S |

exon you are right. As far as the second missing song is concerned as per geet kosh it seems to be the same song "hum hain nashe mein which starts with "jhuki ja rahi hain nigahen gulabi". I am uploading the first song which starts with "ujad gayee hai mohabbat mein--taqdeer ka fasana". the song is in mp3 format @192kbps romesh Thanks for the song, Romesh. -S |

This is an unusual album from the maestro Madan Mohan Saab because it is not Lata Mangeshkar who is on the center stage but it is her sis, Asha. There are also a couple of nice solos by Rafi Saab and another couple of duets with Asha. Lata has only one duet in this album with Manna but it is a real beauty. The standout songs of the album are the solo "Tujhe Kya Sunaaoon" and the duet "Woh Chaand Muskaaya". I am also including an extended version of "Humsafar Saath Apna". It is by the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. Now for the songs of this nice album ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Oct 8 2009, 12:10 AM Attached image(s) |

(Sadhna) Arzoo (1965)
Entertaining and light music can't get any better than this. True to their form, Shankar & Jaikishan who ruled the roost in 50's and 60's, have done it again in this album. Each one of the song is a mellisonant winner. Rafi Saab has four solos, all are absolute charmers. Lata has two solos that are equally sweet. There is also a nice duet with Asha and Mubrak Begum. Even though it is difficult to select a winner from such a lovely album, my choice would go to Rafi Saab's solo, "Aye Phoolon Ki Raani". It is interesting to note that Shailendra didn't contribute to any of the lyrics in this album. They were all written by the great Hasrat Jaipuri Saab. I wonder if there were any other movies for which the tandem of Shailendra & Hasrat Jaipuri didn't write lyrics for a Shankar & Jaikishan movie, when Shailendra was still alive, of course. This was the first movie Ramanad Sagar produced and directed under his own banner. Previously he worked on various films with Gemini Studios, but this is truly his independent one. The movie is very light in subject and treatment but has beautiful Sadhana with her brightly engaging smile and all the winsome looks. Here are these honeyed songs ... The standout songs of the album are the solo "Tujhe Kya Sunaaoon" and the duet "Woh Chaand Muskaaya". Maverick Sajjad Hussain, who composed the earlier Ye Hawa Ye Raat Ye Chandni for Sangdil wasn't thrilled to hear Tujhe Kya Sunaoon and made it a point to physically accost Madan Mohan publicly... Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. Yes..read it somewhere. It seems Sajjad went up to Madan mohan in a function when he was with lots of guests and asked him how he got the nerve to copy his tunes...to which it seems MM has simply replied..since it is your tune, i copied it !!
Most of the geniuses lost out on many of opportunities not for the lack of skills but the eccentricities they carried....really sad. After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
