(Rekha) Ghungroo Ki Awaaz (1981)
Vijay Anand made himself a name as one of our finest film directors. But he was more than that. He wrote stories for the films, was responsible for many screenplays, and sometimes even edited his films. Occasionally he went into acting foray. But in this film, he extended himself by writing lyrics for all the songs. And they are not bad. And here he was working with the great craftsman in RD who seemed to have the proper touch for these songs. All of the songs from this album are very good. For me the standout is Kishoreda's solo, the title song "Humraaz Kaisa Hai". Here is this and other songs from this film from an original soundtrack album... Attached image(s) |

(Hema) Razia Sultan (1982)
Here is a magnificent achievement from the uncompromising and awesomely talented Khayyam Saab. This album with so many songs is very rich in melodious music. Most of the songs from the album became very popular, especially solos by Lataji. Apart from those beautiful songs, I love the two solos by Kabban Mirza. What a great voice he has. He sways you away, especially with the song "Aayee Zanjeer Ki Jhankaar". An unforgettable and one of a kind rendition that stays with you for a long time. I am uploading the songs from this marvelous album in three back-to-back posts. The first two posts contain all of the songs from the film. The third post contains several extended version songs. Please note that the sources for most of these songs are an original soundtrack album and a DVD. Some may have been contributed by the members of this Forum. Thank you. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |

(Mala) Radha Ka Sangam (1992)
This movie was Govinda's home production. His brother Kirti Kumar produced and directed the film. He also had a supporting role. He sang a couple of songs as well, a solo and a duet with Lataji. Making of this movie unfolds like a fictional novel. Kirti Kumar originally had Divya Bharati in mind to appear as Radha in the film. Bharati, not even 15 years old, caught the eye of Kumar in a video he saw of her. Even though she was under a contractual agreement with another producer, Kumar convinced him to release her so that she can appear in his film. For the next two years he groomed and readied her for the role. When the movie was to roll, she was out of the film. Many reports suggested that Kumar was so infatuated and smitten with her beauty he became extremely possessive. Bharati was reportedly getting closer to Kumar's brother Govinda and this he couldn't bear. Others suggested that it was Bharati's immature behavior that resulted in her ouster. Finally it was Juhi Chawla who got the role. When the movie was released it proved to be a financial disaster. Reasons included Kumar's inexperience, delays caused by Bharati's ouster, and the music that didn't catch up with the cinegoers. I am uploading songs of this film from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs... (Rekha) Kalyug (1981)
Shyam Benegal directed this movie about two feuding families that was inspired by the great "Mahabharat" epic. Shashi Kapoor who produced the movie also had a pivotal role (plays "Karan"). The movie didn't have too many songs. I am uploading a couple it had and some music clips ripped from a DVD. Here are these... Attached image(s) |

(Mala) Zid (1994)
This is the last film of Mala Sinha we will be covering in this thread. We started about her films in May 2009 and in the past 32 weeks we covered over 100 of her movies. There was one more film starring Mala, called "Sikander", that was "released" in 1996. This movie was in production for well over 10 years. Eventually it was released as a VHS video in 1996 but not in theaters. Even though Dharmendra headed its cast, the movie is difficult to get hold of and I do not have any information about its songs. For these reasons, I treat this film, "Zid", as Mala's last film. It also happens to be the last film for which the great maestro O.P. Nayyar Saab composed music for. Brilliant and uncompromising, OP trailed his own new blazes in hitherto uncharted avenues of music as a composer. Even working with a "new" set of singers ("new" to him), he showed here glimpses of what made him such a luminous legend he undoubtedly was. Here are the songs from this film...
