Starting this thread to post some songs of Shamshad ji I simply love.

Starting with this lovely song from shama 1946 sung by Shamshad ji and Hamida ji.

I have fallen in love with the song since I heard it.

Here are the lyrics I wrote after hearing it:-

I just realized that songs 1&2 above are the same. The song is actually called Dil Leke Rooth Gaye Shyam and is a Shamshad Begum Solo. For some reason, the way I tagged it, I took it as Shyam the singer Anyway, it is attached (the recording is very bad!). So is the song from Humayun

Nice song. Must be one of the last Ghulam Haider also sang. Neither Shamshad, nor GH break into solo and because her voice is masked it almost sounded to me like Noorjehan! I guess I've heard NJ's GH compositions in early punjabi films too much!

By the way, for both songs you uploaded, the length on Media Player appears as 27hrs 03m 11sec - seems to be an encoding issue....
