USRafian,
With reference to the conversation with Gulzar that you pasted, a few questions which you or s'one else might have any info on.... The date is 1999... wonder if there has been any follow up on that 1) Did Libaas ever get released? 2) The albums with RDB that he mentioned, Bharosa and Abhi Abhi... again has anything been done about them? With regard to some of his movies that were mentioned in this conversation... Interesting that he thought Mani Ratnam's Dil Se was not particularly well thought out... his ending in "Hu Tu Tu" is very similar, I was disappointed with it but maybe he was trying to make a different point.. hmm need to go back and see the movie again. The Nana Patekar angle was very bitter though.. I personally thought Maachis was much better thought out in terms of the violence that he depicted in it as it touches the lives of all the characters. I always felt that violence was a very strong theme in a number of Gulzar's movies right from the beginning... Mere Apne is a brilliant movie, it is apparently a remake of a Bengali movie. Anyone has seen it ? ![]() "This isn't right, this isn't even wrong." Wolfgang Pauli (1900-1958) "There are no facts, only interpretations." Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) |
