Dear SP, Thanks for the wonderful UJALA album. Ever since I saw this film, in the mid-80s, it has been a perennial favourite. Especially, 'Jhoomtha...' must rate as one of the most rollicking songs that Lata must have sung in her career. Best regards, suresh Thanks for the comment Suresh. I see you live in Chile. The current devastating earthquake, and the continued after shocks, hope didn't do any harm to you and your near and dear ones. It was such a monumental human tragedy. Such enormous losses. So much of devastation and tragedy. I am happy to see that you are here amongst us and able to correspond. Please take care. Cheers, Swarapriya |

(Nutan) Manzil (1960)
Here is another top album from Burmanda. In this every song is an utter delight. Several beautiful solos including Hematda's chartbuster "Yaad Aa Gayi" and three beautiful duets. Two of these duets are especially very appealing; "Aye Kaash Chalte Milke" and "Chupke Se Mile". The extended version of the latter song is by the courtesy of the Forum member Sukesh Hoogan. Thank you very much Sukeshji. Rest of the songs are all from the original sound track album. Here are these perennial pleasers ... Attached image(s) |

Interestingly, Saira's husband, Dilipji made his debut in the same named film in 1944. The songs of this film all came from a DVD. Now for the songs from this album ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Mar 22 2010, 02:24 AM Attached image(s) |

(Sharmila) Badnam Farishte (1971)
Here is a movie composed by N. Dutta that doesn't have lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi. Asad Bhopali, who wrote the lyrics for this movie does a great job. Rafi Saab's solo "Kahin Khilte Hain Phool" and solos by Asha are very good. It appears like I may be missing a song shown in red italics in the table below. If indeed this is the case, please kindly share. Thanks. Here are the songs ... Attached image(s) |

Thanks for Khite hain phool, a rare gem of the emperor.
PLAYBACK SINGING STARTS AND ENDS WITH RAFISAAB. IN TERMS OF QUALITY, CONSISTENCY & VERSATILITY, RAFISAAB IS INFINITE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF ALL SINGERS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER HIM. |

(Saira) Jwar Bhata (1973) Interestingly, Saira's husband, Dilipji made his debut in the same named film in 1944. The songs of this film all came from a DVD. Per EarthMusic it seems like there may be a female version of the song "Turu Ruru" that I am missing. The details are shown in red italics in the table below. If this is indeed the case, and if you can share this song with us, please kindly do. Now for the songs from this album ... Can you please provide source for Maya Gosh as a singer for the missing song. Thanks. R
