the show might have to be canceled as due to server Busy error we were not able to d/l all attachments and if this server busy thing continues it will be difficult to log in on HFchat too so unless BJ can do some miracle we might have to postpone the show.... im sorry guys!!!! sorry.gif

For the last time--I am not gonna have anything to do with radio any more. Those who wish to advertise their programs can do so on their own and those who wish to attend can find their way. The only time I stated a wrong timing in a reminder was for Inaam's NJ show. Bahut ho gaya.

Next program on HF Radio from my side

For the first time on HF Radio, a special program on BENGALI SONGS,
"My Favourite Bengali songs" - largely from the 50s and the 60s

The radio program will feature a selection of my favourite Bengali songs - largely from the 50s and the 60s, going upto the early 70s. From out of my favourite songs, I will be choosing those songs which are likely to have 'universal' appeal.....since many of you may not have heard these songs earlier and since most of our usual listeners on HF radio may not be able to understand the lyrics...but I assure them ( esp the ones who are 'words' oriented !! ) that the musical content of the songs will be enough to hold their interest !

Amongst my favourites are two musical giants,
- Hemanta Mukhopadhyay or Mukherjee ( known to old Hindi film music lovers as Hemant Kumar ), and
- Salil Chowdhury

So, don't be surprised to find many of their songs in the final selection !! Lata Mangeshkar sang many Bengali songs for these two composers......and you will hear some of them too.

The timing is in the morning for India and in the night for the US
