Karachi, February 5

Dashing Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi has set a world mark in One-Day Internationals by belting his 190th sixer during his 26-run cameo against Australia in the first of the VB series best-of-three finals.

Pinch-hitter Afridi on Friday surpassed the record of Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya, who had achieved the feat in 325 ODI innings. Afridi's effort came in his 189th innings.

The 24-year-old Afridi was propelled to fame as a teenager in 1996 when he blasted the fastest ever one-day hundred against Sri Lanka in Nairobi by scoring a century off a mere 37 balls.

Prior to Friday's first final at Melbourne, Karachi-born Afridi needed just two more sixes to create a new world record and he did it in style when he lifted medium pacer Andrew Symonds over square leg to the amazement of over 27,000 spectators at the MCG.

Following is the list of batsmen who have hit 100 or more sixs in ODIs.
