Barsaat Ki Raat (1960)

Here is one of my favorite Roshan album. Not only it has some beautiful solos but also it boasts several scintillating qawwalis. Because of the length of the qawwaalis, I am uploading all the songs in three separate posts, one immediately following another.

Thanks for the songs.
Its interesting to note that the lovely qawwali Yeh Ishq Ishq hai was recorded continuously for 29 hours. The stalwarts were ready to put in so much effort to get the right effect. These days its all cut paste.

This has to be recognized as THE work of Roshan. He captured all the moods from joy to sorrow and everything in between.The sheer upbeat mood of Qawalis! The tunes of these Qawalis can also be heard in some of the singing of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I don't know which came first - the Fateh Ali Khan families traditional tunes or Roshan's tunes.
