Hey Abhay thanks a lot for this beautiful song and information regarding same.

Now i remember Jagjit Kaur's song. I guess she sung one song for the movie "Bazar" also. Song is "Dekhlo Aaj Hamko jeebharke". Please correct me if i am wrong.

Do you have Khayyam's second songs from the movie Shankar Hussain? I have one song "Aap yunhi Faasalon se", i need second song sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Dont remember the exact word, but songs goes like "kisake aanese or kisake aahat se...."

"dekh lo" is indeed by Jagjit Kaur.

I am a great fan of the song. Both audio and video is excellent.

I am uploading the song for you in video format.

It is said that the song was sung by her as a filler for the shooting only since the intended singer (probably Suman Kalyanpur) wasn't available. The lyricist Sahir was so impressed by her singing that he insisted that the song be retained in Jagjit ji's voice. (He particularly liked the way she sang main dekhoon to sahi duniya kaise tumhein sataati hai) It is her swan song better than many bests of many of her contemporary singers. She truly made something out of the opportunity.

I find many lines of the song impressive.

Waheeda and Kamaljeet (real life couple starred in the movie). I wonder, Who's the actress on whom it is picturised? She adds that that extra something which makes the video also stand out. The expressions of the artists are also very good. For example, notice where the singer sings Woh dil jo maine maanga tha magar gairon ne paaya tha bade shauq hai agar uske pashemaani mujhe de do. Many such instances. Hope you all enjoy the video.

The song would definitely feature in my top 20 best bollywood songs.
