This is not a question of whether you like Rafi’s duets with Lata or with Asha. In my opinion, the following are the ten best ‘Fast’ Rafi-Asha duets:

1)Aja_aja_main_hun_pyar_tera (Teesri Manzil)
2)leke pehla pehla pyar (CID)
3) ye parda hata do (Ek Phool Do Mali)
4) yumma_yumma (China Town)
5) o'haseena_zulphowali (Teesri Manzil)
6)_Peete_Peete_kabhi_kabhi (Bairaag)
7) dekhiye saahibo (Teesri Manzil)
8) naajni_bada_rangeen_hai (Phir Wohi Dil Layaa Hoon)
9) Aap_ko_pehle_hi_kahi (Tum haseen main jawan)
10) Ek Pardeshi Mera Dil (Phagun)

I consider all these as “Pure Asha duets”, i.e., I can not Imagine any of these being sung by Lata.

Similarly, according to me, the following are the ten of the best ‘Fast’ Rafi-Lata duets:

1) Koi Bata De Dil Hai (Mai Chup Rahoongi)
2) Tumhari nazar (Do Kaliya)
3) Main Chali Main Chali (Professor)
4) Dheere dheere chal chand (Love Marriage)
5) Baar BaarTohe Kya Samjhaoon (Aarti)
6) Ek Ghar Banaaoongaa (Tere Ghar ke Samne)
7) Ni sultana re (Pyar ka Mausam)
8) Humko hone lagaa hai pyar (Dil Ne Pukaaraa)
9) Jeevan Me piya Tera saath rahe (Goonj Uthi Shehnaee)
10) Dil Tera deewaana Hai sanam (Dil Tera Deewana)


I consider all these as “Pure Lata duets”, i.e., I can not Imagine any of these being sung by Asha

But I am not so sure about the following:

1) Neel Gagan Par Udte Badal (Khandaan) Asha
2) Yehi Hai Who Saanjh Aur Savera (Saanjh Aur Savera) Asha
3) Chadti Jawani Meri Chaal Mastani (Caravan) Lata
4) Deewane Hai Deewano Ko (Zanzeer) Lata

In my opinion, these songs would probably have been better sung by the “other Sister” (All these songs are excellent, as they are)

I invite your opinions about any other songs which might have been better, had it been sung by the “other sister”

Frankly, I do not endorse the top-ten selections above. Think that there are many many others that are even better.

In the context of Rafi Saab, 'top-ten's, 'top-fifty's and even 'top-hundred's are hazardous to select.

Maybe, with a lot of difficulty, one can select and name the top-500, that too not in the order of merit.

BTW, 'Leke Pehla Pehla Pyar' was sung by Rafi Saab, Shamshad and Asha.
