hey all,

i mugged a cd from a friend for what i thought can be of interest to all of us rafi fans,

this album is called "phirafi" read "phir rafi", its a collection of rafi's bhajans and some classical movie compositions, but the only thing is, its sung by sonu nigam ofcourse, he sings them DARN well

has this been uploaded here before? i browsed through the whole rafi forum, but was unable to see any topic suggesting that it culd be there.

i have been mostly concentrating on raag rung section, so i would like to ask anybody with an insight to this part of the forums uploads to help me out. the stuff is good, u'll enjoy it.

If these songs are sung by Sonu and are not the originals that are by Rafi, then check up if anyone is interested in Sonu's forum.

Yes, wehshee you don't want to incur the wrath of Rafians here by uploading Sonu's version. As it is by saying that Sonu sings them "darn well", you may have raised a few eyebrows.

However, I am game for anything by Sonu (ahem, I am Sonu!). Let's take this to my forum.

For once in all sincerity I can say thanks but no thanks... for 2 reasons- even though my better half is a Sonu fan, I can't stand Sonu singing Rafi's songs - for that matter I hate anyone singing the legends' songs except at shows! I like some of Sonu's own songs though...

and secondly - I have the CD

i totally agree that rafi's songs are best left untouched by other singers. the only reason i posted (and asked before uploading anything and hence getting kicked around too) this here is coz even though these songs are sung by sonu, but in actaulity they are rafi's.

my apologies if any eye brows have gone against garvity.

rafi is rafi.. period. i am a huge fan myself.

i haven't been to that thread in chit-o-chat, but i guess has to be a fine line drawn to set aside songs that can be termed as common. i mean, i was in kumar sanu's section the other day, and some nice gentelman or lady wanted someone to U/L "teri mohabbat ne dil main maqam kar diya" from the movie "rang"

Hay wehshee. I missed these songs.
I like sonu and I like him singing rafi songs. ofcourse he one of the few
new singers that can sing rafi songs well without trying to completely
immitate his sound.
Could u do me a big favor by ul the following songs again.

1) radhikay tu nay bansuri
2)saz ho tum
3) man tarpat
4)nachay man mora
