Anu Malik & Gulzar team together

Anu Malik hasn’t been heard since his last composition for JP Dutta’s ‘Umrao Jaan’ starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. In a unique collaboration of sorts, he has teamed up with veteran lyricist Gulzar. He is very ecstatic that he has been chosen to compose music for a Pakistani film for which Gulzarsaab is penning the lyrics. It’s like a dream come true for him. Gulzar asked him to compose music for the Pakistani film titled ‘Tere Liye’ and without any hesitation he agreed, as it was an offer he could not turn down. The film is written by Javed Siddiqui.

Anu Malik is composing music for the first time in his career for a Pakistani film. When he heard the story of film, he was floored by it and he decided to do all seven songs as it had good scope for melodious tracks. The soundtrack comprises melodious numbers and Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik has recorded a love ballad. Anu is very happy about working with Gulzar but he was touched when Gulzar praised him after hearing the music of the film. He feels that the compliments from Gulzar are no less than an honour for him.
