I have broadly classified them into Non-film songs and Film songs.

Shubham, as per my information she has sung about 65 Bengali songs. We have about 51 songs in the list (most of which were uploaded by one of our great contributor Rinki (rinmaj))

I added a few and then Behenji Turned Mod uploaded some more songs.

So effectively we are still looking for about 15 songs of hers..

Both the videos caught my eye not only because of Geetaji's songs but also the bewitchingly beautiful Scuchitra Sen & the debonair handsome Uttam Kumar.
I have downloaded both the videos.

Over the years I have collected over 60 songs of Bengali songs of Geeta ji. Will re-upload them if any one is interested.

Tommy is a member of HF, but not very active on HF I guess. He is more focussed on his YT channel which has 500 plus videos by now.

No, I'm not very active here, am I? I'm a bit intimidated by the wealth of knowledge on display here, so I mostly hide in the shadows, read, and learn. Heck, my favorite Geeta Dutt songs are the ones from her husband's films, but I get the impression that the favorites of most people here are those from films I've never seen. And, not speaking the language, I haven't much interest in the records, CDs, and MP3s (although I have some).

The Bengali section of the www.geetadutt.com site says there are 4 songs she does for the 1958 film Indrani, but my DVD only had 3 of them. In addition to the 2 madsur already graciously mentioned, there's also a third one, my favorite:

I do get your point my friend. Her songs from Guru Dutt films are the more famous ones and talked about. Our effort here on Geeta Dutt forum and on our website www.geetadutt.com is to showcase her talent outside her husband's films. She has sung precisely just 43 songs for Guru Dutt films compared to her career total of 1500 plus songs. These songs are in many languages, with many composers, filmed on many actresses. After her marriage, as we know she became a proud mother three times. Giving birth and bringing up the kids did make some impact to her career. Plus she faced many personal and family challenges in her life. The industry is not so kind and these are some reasons why she has sung less songs compared to other leading singers of her times.

Still we keep trying to explore her lesser heard songs and let more and more people know that she is much more than "Babuji dheere chalna" and "Mera naam chin chin choo"

A question on the lyricist of the above 2 songs of Geeta ji. Is this person the same as Geeta ji's mother? If yes, then these two songs represent the efforts of the Roy family in the department of lyrics, music and voice..

With help from our dear friend Dr Jyoti Prakash Guha ji, we have finally come up with the database of Bengali songs of Geeta ji (film and non-film). The files can be accessed from our website here

Music lovers know Guha ji as the force behind the lovely website on the legendary actress-singer Kanan Devi ji. Guha ji has been associated with us right from the inception of the website and is one of our mentors. So it was natural that we approached him for his help on the database of Bengali songs of Geeta ji. Based on his research and his personal collection of songs, Guha ji compiled this information for us in the shortest amount of time.

Guha ji not only got the information on the songs but also the record numbers for those songs. Once again, getting information on Geeta ji’s non-film songs was a much tougher task. Guha ji patiently kept on searching for the relevant information. He kept on improvising on the information he was compiling. Finally after several iterations, the database of Bengali songs of Geeta ji is ready.

Guha ji has been another mentor for our website and has guided us in every possible way in bringing it to what it is today. His passion, enthusiasm, dedication and affection for us is what we cherish the most. We are indebted to him forever.

Mahesh, it is the collective effort of all the friends through which this has been possible. It all began with Mr Saunak Gupta, a visitor to our website sending a preliminary list of Bengali songs of Geeta ji. It was a good starting point. Then I shared that list with Guha ji and Debabrata (Indydave). We got some valuable inputs from indy as well. It was up to the research and dedication of our dear Guha ji to bring up the final list with all the details like record number etc. Indeed, he has done a fascinating job. This is by far a complete list to the best of our knowledge. As always, he has ensured that if he gets to know any more information about Geeta ji's Bengali songs, he will surely let us know.

We never said we have "all" the songs. We only collected information about songs of Geeta ji. Our dear friend Guha ji put in a lot of efforts to compile the database of her songs. Mahesh has listed the songs which are not in his collection. We all will collectively try finding them.

By the way, the image of the record you have posted has no relation to what Mahesh has requested or the database of songs Guha ji has compiled for us. The image shows just two songs of Geeta ji which we already have.
