Balaji...Shams Lucknavi was also the other lyricist of the movie.
As far as I remember (have to again see it to confirm), shamim was
the name of the heroine Mehtab in the
movie shama. In olden days the records bore the film name of the heroine
and not of the singer that may be the reason that you have kept the name
shamim in your records. There are 7 paras of this song sung by shamshad
begum. 4 were on two sides of the 78 rpm and 4 in the movie. One is common
in both.

The records (Columbia) of Shama did not give names of the poets.
Both the record and the movie have five paras. The
words of para 4 and 5 in the movie differ with para
4 and 5 of the record, making up 7 paras in total.
Para 1 and 2 were jointly written by Ehsan Rizvi and
Shamim but the remaining three were written by Ehsan
Rizvi alone.
