Radio Ceylon Poor Broadcasting ......

Something strange is happening with Radio Ceylon. While Jyoti Parmar is the main announcing some lady translate in English as if SLBC has listeners who understands Hindi songs but cannot understand announcement in Hindi.

Once again a garbage program with so commonly heard songs with the argument from announcer Jyoti Parmar that Sri Lankan listeners love these kind of songs and defending the choice they made.Our open question to them and SLBC management is that how come they statrted paying attention to local listeners where they failed to pay attention in last 30+ years. On top of everything this is supposed to be an overseas broadcast for overseas listeners. SLBC is certainly going to dogs."

SLBC PAYS BELATED TRIBUTE TO K.L.SAIGAL

Well...the announcer did not even care to mention the anniversary of Kundanlal Saigal on January 18th program & instead they paid tribute on next day.This has been now an established practice that they always pay tributes day after.The entire programming is changed now as they have been playing all the songs from their digitalised collection & therefore from computer & they make so obvious in their selection which is most of the time in alphabetic order.They must have huge collection whereas their selection is limited to only 300 songs.You may very well see that most of the songs are repeated within 15 days or may be next day.Its such a pity that K.LSaigal has rendered around 250 songs & SLBC HAS BEEN PLAYING ONLY 20 SONGS....ALL REPEATS. The announcers has lost their interest & of course new young announcers dont care even.Hopefully new elected prime minister will bring some changes as present ailing chairman has some weird ideas & keeps on implementing time to time.

On the other hand All India Radio has started 24/7 online programs with an excellent audio quality.God help SLBC.
