Kishore Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Geeta Dutt - singing actors took over the silver screen in 1950s and 1960s Bollywood. The trend revived when Amitabh Bachchan took to the recording studio to lend his voice to songs in his 1979 film Mr Natwarlal.
