This movie won a whole slew of Filmfare awards, some six or seven. These include Best Picture, Best Director (Shohanlal Kanwar), Best Actor (Manoj Kumar), Best Supporting Actor (Pran), Best Music (Shankar & Jaikishan), Best Lyrics (Verma Malik for "Jai Bolo Be-Imaan Ki"), and Best Male Playback Singer (Mukesh for "Jai Bolo Be-Imaan Ki"). The surprise here is that "Pakeezah" that probably should have easily walked away with many of these awards was nominated in several of these categories but couldn't win a single award. Just goes to show how bad these awards can get to be ...

Here are the songs from this movie, from an original soundtrack album. It appears like that I may be missing a song shown in red italics in the table below. If indeed this is the case, please kindly share it if you can. Thanks.

This lovely album by LP has several melodious osngs. Rafi Saab dominates the proceedings with three great solos and two duets. My favorite of the album is the solo "Yeh Shama", beautifully performed by Rafi Saab. Here is this and other songs from an original soundtrack album ...
