What an album this is - one of Dattaram's best scores. I especially love "kaTiile kaTiile nashiile nashiile" - many years ago, before sharing on the Net became widespread, I hunted far and wide for this song and finally bought the VCD and got the song off it.

One minor correction: the female voice in the duet "na jaane kahaa.N tum the" is Suman Kalyanpur. Lata's voice doesn't feature anywhere in this film.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this Dattaram's beautiful album. Some people never seem to have gotten their proper due and Dattaram is definitely falls in that category.

(Rajendra) Do Jasoos (1975)

Songs from this album were recently uploaded in the "Raj Kapoor" thread in this directory. The interesting thing about this album is that out of seven songs, five were composed by Ravindra Jain and the other two were composed by the singer Shailendra Singh. Besides, Shailendra Singh also acted in the movie.

All of these songs from an original soundtrack album are available starting at the following location...

This was a documentary on Indian Cinema that was produced and directed by Krishna Shah who earlier directed the international versions of "Shalimar (1978)". It has no songs in it but several film stars narrated the history of the Indian Cinema from its inception. The narrators were Hema Malini, Zeenat Aman, Kim, Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, and others.

For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness.
