If I'm not mistaken, Luta Dil Mera was also a Sajjad composition.

Aditya, I made changes to the tables per your suggestion. Thanks. -S

QUOTE(Exon @ Mar 17 2010, 10:48 AM) *

SP,

Manna Dey:
(yeh duniya hai kaanton ka ghera ...)
yeh jag rain baseraa bandhe, naa teraa, na meraa
chhadtaa suraj, dhalti chhaaya, jogi waala teraa

There are no missing songs in your list.
The line 'yeh duniya hai kaanton ka ghera' is supposed to be starting line for the other song by Manna Dey.
None of the audios posted so far have this starting line.

Exon

Exon, I have updated the table and writeup to reflect your suggestion. Thanks. -S

(Madhubala) Amar (1954)

Here is a very unusual film from the brilliant Mehboob Khan Saab. This movie with the leading man having to live with an ugly secret was definitely ahead of its time. Madhubala not only was beautiful but very radiant through out the movie. But the movie belonged to Dilip Saab. The love he has for one woman and the sin he commits with another, the anguish, the suffering, and the pain Dilipji brings out the role he played requires, pulls off brilliantly. I don't believe Dilip ever played such a complex character anytime in his entire career and he does this ever so effortlessly, the magnificent actor he is.

Naushadji's songs are the things of beauty. Every song is a delight. But the song that is the soul of the movie is "Insaaf Ka Mandir Hai". Rafi Saab does a magnificent job here that the haunting song stays with you forever.

I am uploading these songs in three back-to-back posts. Here is the ifrst set ...

I had promised myself to traverse and meander this post some time ago. Unfortunatey I could not, for a long time. Today, I have done so - page by page, drinking in like a very thirsty person every bit of what you have researched and posted here.

Thank you for for this journey

Best regards
Bhavita

Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water.

- Albert Schweitzer

Without music life would be a mistake
- Friedrich Nietzsche

Where words fail, music speaks
- Hans Christian Anderson

Music is spiritual. The music business is not
- Van Morrison

Bhavita,

Thank you very much for your kind appreciation.

You have a quote by Hans Christian Anderson as your signature that says "When words fail, music speaks". In your case, Bhavita, your words also speak, and that too very eloquently.

Cheers,
Swarapriya
