SP This must be one of the rarest album which has songs by Lata ji, Geeta ji, Rajkumari ji and Asha ji. The only notable singer missing is Shamshad ji. Here is the video of this dreamy and lovely song "Raat mohe meetha meetha sapna aaya re" courtesy our dear friend Anupama ji. Cheers Parag Yes, you're right on, Parag. And my thanks for the note. Also many thanks to Anupama for the video. Cheers, Swarapriya |

(Madhubala) Khazana (1951) This movie with C. Ramchandra's music has some beautiful songs, all by Lata, four solos and four duets. All songs I am uploading here are by the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. Here are the songs ... SP, Audio of the song, 'soyi soyi chaandni hai, khoyi khoyi raat hai' with me is a Lata solo. Would you please recheck if the uploaded audio is indeed duet? Thanks, Exon |

(Meena) Daera (1953)
Here is another album starring Meena Kumari. Kamal Amrohi made this movie from his own story. Meena Kumari was married to him at this time. Kamal was many years senior to her and apparently she was his second wife. This movie was a flop. But definitely not because of its songs. Because they are all pretty good with Mubarak Begum and Talat sharing the bulk of the chore. I haven't seen the movie but apparently Meenaji had an excellent portrayal basking fresh from the glory she achieved with the performance in her previous movie, "Baiju Bawra". I am uploading all the songs of this album taken from various sources. Some came from CDs and others came via the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. I am also uploading some extended version songs in the second post. Quality of most of the songs is very good. However, because of the bdifferent sources they came from, some songs do have poor quality. Mubarak Begum has three solos and a duet. I don't believe I have seen Begum Saab singing this many songs in any movie before. Here is the first set of songs ... Attached image(s) ![]() |

Some Extended Version Songs of "Daaera (1953)"
I am including in this post some extended version songs. Couple of these are by the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. The third one I found in the "You Tube". This is a very long version of Talat's song "Aa Bhi Jaa Meri Duniya Mein" which is over seven minutes long. Its quality is poor but it has sounds of Meena Kumari intermixed within drwan out silences of the song. The slow pace with Talat sings and the long song really match the mood that was depicted in the movie and caught my fancy. Here are these songs ... Attached image(s) ![]() |

(Madhubala) Nadaan (1951)
I am uploading most of the songs from this album here. Chic Chocolate, the music director, was apparently worked with C. Ramchandra who supervised the music for this album. All these songs are by the courtesy of the Forum members. Because these songs came from various sources, their quality is also variable ranging sometimes from very good to other times to kind of iffy. I am uploading some extended version songs in the second post. That post also lists missing songs. Here is the first set of songs ... Attached image(s) ![]() |
