Madhubala - Saiyyan (1951)
Music : Sajjad Hussain
Lyrics : Rajendar Krishan, Hasrat Jaipuri & DN Madhok

Why not let Swarapriya introduce the film, with her usual illuminating write-ups and request any missing songs?

Kind Regards

Thank you very much Faraaj for putting so much confidence in me. I am plain flattered. I am not really shy to speak my mind as you may have noticed in my write ups. You can share your mind only if it comes from your heart. Language is only an instrument but a beautiful one when one can express their feelings effectively within the realm of the subject and personal experiences. A personal touch always gives a lasting impression, whether you agree with the thoughts and philosophies behind those expressed opinions or not.

That said, Faraaj, I believe there is no harm done when someone comes forward to help even if it is unsolicited.

Again many thanks for expressing such confidence in me.

Cheers,
Swarapriya

(Meena) Madhosh (1951)

Here is one of the early albums of the incomparable Madan Mohan. It probably was his second album. Lata Mangeshkar dominates this album with six solos out of nine songs. This is how the great partnership of Lataji and Madan Mohan Saab, Lataji used to call him "Madan Bhayya", started. It has led to some of the greatest compositions of Mohanji and some of the sweetest songs of Lataji that probably will be perennially remembered for their heart rendering melodies.

There is a song in this album by a singer named Chand and I don't believe I have heard too much of. This probably is the only one. Talat Saab has a great song, a ghazal, "Meri Yaad Mein", sung in his inimitable style with that silken voice he was famous for.

Here are all of the songs from this beautiful album ...

(Nargis) Lahore (1949)

I am uploading some of the songs from this album here. These came from several sources including CDs and MP3 albums. The quality is just passable for some songs. I am pretty sure there probably are more songs from this movie. If so, and if you can share, please kindly do so. Here is what I have from this album ...

Swarapriya

From memory, the only Lahore song you missed in your upload that stands out is Ek Aas Bandhaye Jaati Hai which I am uploading. The quality is ok but not CDQ.

For the other songs you uploaded, I do have CDQ 192kbps - 224kbps. If there is any specific song whose quality is poor, I can upload my version...let me know...

1949 Lahore - Lata - Ek Aas Bandhaye Jaati Hai-ss 3m 15s 128kbps mp3

To the best of my knowledge Aziz Kashmiri was a lyricist. The MD for Sun Lo Sajan was Shyam Sunder, like other songs in the film. In fact the same tune was repeated by him a year later in the film Dholak in the Lata-Rafi duet - Aise Rasiya Ka Kya Aitbaar. Coincidentally, Aziz Kashmiri was the lyricist of the that song as well.

Of course, all the above is subject to correction. If at all, some 'Aziz' was the MD of these 2 songs, it would be Aziz Khan/ Aziz Hindi. Can someone with HFGK please confirm this?

BTW, the two remaining missing songs are:

- Hum Ne Circus Mein Naukri Kar Li - G. M Durrani
- Hum Jahan Mein Aaye Hai Aansoo Bahane - Karan Dewan

Request other members to upload the above songs.

Aditya

Correct.

All the songs of this movie were penned by Rajender Krishan except
sun lo sajan dil ki baat....which Aziz Kashmiri wrote.

Bedard zamaane kya teri mehfil main hamara koyi nahin.....
uploaded version is ....2.28

On long playing record, the version released was of about 3.17 length.

At 1.04 to 1.06 of that version, one needs to listen carefully.

A very rare phenomenon happened.
