(Mumtaz) Boond Jo Ban Gayee Moti (1977)

This one is a lovely album from less heard of the music directors, Satish Bhatia. Even though most of the songs are good, there is one outstanding song in this album. It is the classic solo by Mukeshji, "Hari Hari Vasundhara". The song reminds of another classic by Mukeshji, from Bimalda's poem of love, "Madhumati (1958)", the solo "Suhaana Safar".

Thank you Sarvpriya Swarapriyaji for posting these songs - as also the majestic title track. Disconcertingly though, parts of the title track sound like the LP song - Khoobsurat Hasina, Jaanejan Jaaneman that featured in a 1964 movie 'Mr. X in Bombay'.

(Waheeda) Phagun (1973)

This Burmanda's album has one of my favorite songs, "More Sainyyaan". Shobha Gurtu, who has an exceptionally beautiful voice, sings this song to near perfection. She did not work that much in films but was known for her contributions as a light Hindustani Classical singer. She was also known as Thumri Queen. A recipient of Padma Bhushan she passed away in 2004. Trilok, one of her sons, carved a name for himself as a fine percussionist.
