(Hema) Prem Nagar (1974)

This film was based on the Telugu hit "Prema Nagar (1971)". SD makes a rare appearance for a movie made in South. Yes, this was made together by Vijaya Pictures and Suresh Pictures, both from South. Songs have SD's inimitable style. Lovely. Melodious.

I am uploading songs from an original soundtrack album in back-to-back two posts. I will also upload songs from the Telugu film right here immediately following uploads of the Hindi songs.

Now for the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ...

Prema Nagar (1971) - A Telugu Film

This hit Telugu film was the basis for the Hindi "Prem Nagar (1974)". Most of the songs from this film were very popular. I have a couple of favorites in this album. These are the solo by Ghantasala, "Teta Teta Telugula" and the duet of Susheela and Ghantasala, "Kadavettu Kochhindi".

I am uploading these songs in back-to-back two posts. Here are the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ...

(Mala) Anpadh (1962)

Here is a timeless classic from ever so brilliant Madan Mohan Saab. The songs from this film by Lata
cemented their relationship as the pair to look forward in the years to come. And they did not disappoint the music lovers. In the years to come they proved time and again that their collaboration produced some of the best songs sung by Lata that stood the test of time and some of the finest music composed by Mohan Saab that is still talked about. The songs from "Anpadh" were also immensely helped by some unforgettable lyrics written by Raja Mhedi Ali Khan that made these songs even more endearing.

I am uploading all of the songs from the original soundtrack album in the first post. In the second post I am including several specials.

SP,

Regarding second song in this album list: I have never understood why most places it is titled as 'dulhan hai calcatte ki'. In the song, the chorus singers are really saying 'dulhan marwar ki'.

You're right Exon. I meant to change the title but forgot about it. I will let it go for now. Thanks for pointing this out. Cheers. -S

(Nutan) Dulhan Ek Raat Ki (1966)

Here is another memorably melodious album from the maestro Madan Mohan Saab. So many songs. Almost all of them are just beautiful to listen to. Lata has four soul strring solos. Rafi Saab has a couple of beautiful solos. The duet by Lata and Mahendra is another noteworthy song.

I am uploading all these songs in back-to-back three posts. The first post contains all of the songs from an original soundtrack album. The second post contains the remaining songs and some specials. The third post contains some extended version songs.

Now for the details of the the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ...

Continuing Songs from "Dulhan Ek Raat Ki (1966)" ...

I am including here rest of the songs from the film. These were not included in the original soundtrack album and are all by the courtesy of the Forum members. I am also including here a couple of specials. Mahendra Kapoor gives a nice introduction of his "Guru", Rafi Saab, in the song "Ek Haseen Shaam Ko". This one is taken from the album "Legends: Mohd. Rafi - The Virtuoso (CD4)". Then for the special version of "Sapnon Mein Agar", Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma pays a tribute to Madan Mohanji and Lata. This is taken from the album "Legends: Madan Mohan - The Instinctive Genius (CD 3)".

Here are the details of the songs in this post and the songs themselves ...
