(Mala) Miiti Mein Sona (1960)
Songs of this album were recently re-uploaded by Sukesh Hooganji, one of our fellow members. These are in the O.P. Nayyar music directory and can be accessed at the following path. Thank you very much Sukeshji ... http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...72710&st=24 This post has been edited by swarapriya: Apr 7 2010, 08:51 PM |

"BahaaroN ke sapne" has some of my favorite RDB compositions. There is of course the ethereal Lata solo "Aaja piya tohe pyaar dooN". I saw this film as a child and all I remembered of the movie years later, was the picturization of that scene and how young Rajesh Khanna looked.
My favorite song in the film is "Kya janooN sajan". What a lovely composition and what an amazing rendition by Lata. The film "Dil vil pyaar vyaar" (whose entire album consisted of earlier RDB songs re-sung by current singers) has a lovely version of this song by Kavita Krishnamurthy. While the latter does a great job, she falls just short of something that Lata brings to the original. I have attached that version here. Asha decides that she cannot be left far behind on this album and seemingly effortlessly sings a complex number "Do pal jo teri aaNkhoN se". The little hiccups (for lack of a better word) that she throws in are not easy at all. And then there is the duet - sung so well by both singers, but the real star is the rich and varied orchestration envisioned by RDB. The song combines a beautiful rustic feel with an elegant RDesque tune. After these 4 stalwart songs, the other songs have to work overtime to be remembered. While they are okay, they are completely overshadowed. But as a music lover, I am already fully satiated. So I don't care. This post has been edited by sangeetbhakt: Apr 7 2010, 10:06 PM |

Love the way you put your thoughts together. And, my thanks for Kavita's song. Cheers, S |

Some of the most beautiful and melodious tunes ever created by Burmanda are from this film. These are still available in the "Saat Saath" thread in this section and can be accessed from the following location ... http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...4617&st=141 |

(Rekha) Mehmaan (1973)
The combination of Ravi and Sahir produced innumerable songs that are still fondly remembered. Here they are together again. This time their effort is a tad below what is usually expected of them, but with Sahir as a poet I will take anything he writes to the heart. These songs are all by the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. Now for the songs ... Attached image(s) ![]() |

Tere Chehre hein mein jo is a supermelodious and incredible rendition. Hear it on a walkman and listen to the beautiful vocals and harkat in Rafisaabs voice.
PLAYBACK SINGING STARTS AND ENDS WITH RAFISAAB. IN TERMS OF QUALITY, CONSISTENCY & VERSATILITY, RAFISAAB IS INFINITE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF ALL SINGERS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER HIM. |
