A rare combination especially for the 50s. I think this is the only
Asha song in the film.
An average song, but interesting for its rarity. Somehow the
Naushad compositions did not suit Asha the way they worked
for Lata.

Naushad compositions did not suit Asha the way they worked

When Naushad finally did a volte-face and started praising Asha all too late, he kept harping on how the first song he gave her was a bhajan and then things changed. Wonder why?

How do U rate radha ke pyaare kishn kanhai? Not one where I feel u see the soul of Asha. Just my opinion.

True, cannot think of any Naushad number for Asha that would make it to my top 50. Yet can think of so many I like for Lata, Mukesh, Rafi and even Shjamshad Begum.

Maybe while composing for bazaru aurats and making bazaru voices sing, he was not inspired enough.

Sorry, I was thinking of the film "Kismat ka khel" from which Bobby (I think)
recently uploaded a song. The Asha/SJ combo was also not that common in
the 50s and early 60s. And I was thinking of both Naushad and SJ at the
same time. And the SJ film has only 1 Asha song in it, the one uploaded by
Bobby. Loooooooooooooooong explanation to simply say that I goofed.

I think the composer is Shaukat Dehalvi Nashaad & not Naushad. Eventhough the source 1 from CMC says Naushad, I agree with source 2 , source 3 & Source 4 given below mentions composer as Nashaad:

Was planning to ul the songs I mentioned but beech mein the pace gets faster--whether due to song situation (is a 5 min song, a rarity then) or due to a problem with the vcd, I do not know.

Well, going by some of the pacier songs, I would be inclined to say it is Naashad and not Naushad. Thanks for the correction, Mohdsaab. VN normally never makes that error so I did not bother to check.
