Rare Asha Songs, Add On Options

Okay...I have no clue if this song is rare (cause me a Lata fan.....hehe...entering the Asha section  )...most of u ppl must be having this song I guess. It is a Asha Bhosle-Pandit Bhimsen Joshi song from the Album/Film called "Pativrata". This is a classical song, I would guess.

I wonder if anyone here can give me more info on this Album - the music director - if this is a privae one or this is actually a filmi song - and the other songs from the same album/film.

This is DEFINITELY a rare song as far as I am concerned. Never heard it or come across it anywhere. Thanks so much. Beautiful number.
Cannot find any info on this song. This definitely pre 1994 as obvious from the voice and so maybe it is a pvt song? Bec it is not listed in the VN book. No duet with Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, no song like this, no such film name.
Can someone check with the Geetkosh.
Well details are secondary. The song is amrut.

And heres the last one. This one is in bangla, but the tune is taken from a somewhat unknown song by the same composer (<-- big hint). Ab kaun Asha bhakt apni bhakti prove karna chahega? What track am i talking about?

And it is not an unheard song!!! Jaane do mujhe is from the album Dil Padosi Hai which has been rereleased twice !!!!! Lovely song.
Actually I think it is the other way round. The Bangla version is 1969 iirc and the Hindi album is 1987? Hitsji could confirm my vague assertions.

Lame excuses??? It's the truth. The book does not include non film songs and yes it has missed a few film songs too. Which is natural considering the Herculean task of compiling Ashaji's formiddable repertoire and some of the relatively obscure films she has sung for esp till the 50s. Sheesh!!!!

No wonder there is only this one song from this album/film (Pativrata) at emusic.com. By the way, emusic.com lists this song in the "Indian Film" category.

And yes..emusic.com is a really cool place (they should now pay me for advertising them) - they have probably all SaReGaMa songs there for instant download...with a fee of course (however, there is a "50 songs in 2 week" FREE download there...so I think one by one..all of U should join there....and make use of that - yup..u'll need credit card, and I believe it is pretty safe). After the trial, I would still say that songs are cheaper there - than from our desi HamaraCD (to me at least using Canadian dollars ). I think it has all the songs from HamaraCD.

Well...Sani has a purpose uploading rare songs for U nice ppl - Sani hopes that this album might also reveal some classical songs of Lata (solo/duet) in the same album/film...hehehe..kidding.. yup..I really love classical songs - from almost all singers. So..really...would really appreaciate if U ppl get some more info on this album/film (i wonder how many times i have written "album/film" in the last 24 hrs?!?!).

OK...so Nimmi is talking to me. By Sept-2005, I will once again vanish for 4 months, I predict - 4th year in Engineering - getting harder every year.

Light years ya Micro-wave years...by age 65, I bet U will like Lata over Asha - if not - then I'll pay you approx.10% of my then monthly salary as an Engineer. lagataa hai aap aashaa-bhakto.n ne gaanaa Thiik se sunaa bhii nahii.n!! Why would you hunt in the Geetkosh for a *MARATHI* song???
The song is from the Marathi film "Pativrata", MDed by Ram Kadam. It is from the late 1950s/early 1960s.
