Well, the fancy term OST is borrowed from one of desi forums(now closed)
on net where I was also a member fortunately/unfortunately.

Can someone explain its relevance to Hindi Film Soundtracks please.

As a layman, I follow the following Definition of OST

AFAIK this is what an OST is

"A commercially released soundtrack album of music as featured in the soundtrack of a film or TV show"

So any pop album or anything of that sort is a non-OST. The udit album amfan was asking was not from a movie so not an OST unsure.gif

This was w.r.t to the movie songs. Most of the RD Burman albums doesn't come
into category of OST(cousrtsey-free editing service by HMV).

Often found the fancy word OST in many songs uploaded here and that desi board.
I think term is more relevant to oldies when two recordings were made-one for soundtrack
and another for "Kali Chakri".

AMFan kahan ho yaar bored.gif

Bawla Bhai & Sangeetji,

Was just busy for few days in between. Any way on the subject of OST, I can only say that I have never dug this much deeper into the original concept. Where ever I have mentioned OST, I have only referred to the original soundtracks released by concerned audio companies. Whether it is applicable to film soundtracks & non applicable to albums, that part was unknown to me. So, if I am referring to the original audio soundtracks of an album, what should I mention? Just CD rip? Or some thing else? Please specify.

Sangeet (1992)

In 1992, director Vishwanath was very busy and had three movies released; two in Telugu and one in Hindi. He usually makes movies in Hindi from his Telugu movies. In this case I am not sure if "Sangeet" was based on any earlier Telugu movie. Even though with beautiful Madhuri (playing a double role) was in the middle of things and with some fine songs by Anand & Milind, the movie was a disappointment.

There are many songs in this movie (13 of them). I will upload them in back-to-back two posts. Here is the first set of songs ...

Dhanwaan (1993)

The songs of this fine album were uploaded way back in Februray in this nice thread amfan has started. Because I am doing a series on the works of Telugu filmland's ace director K. Vishwanath, I thought I re-upload these songs. Vishwanath made 55 or so movies. 10 of these were in Hindi. He didn't leave much mark in the Hindi field but his acknowledged genius in what he has accomplished especially in 80's and 90's in the Telugu film field is beyond doubt or question.

Because of the length of the songs I will upload them in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first part ...

Songs of "Dhanwaan (1993)" Continued ...

Here are the rest of the songs from this fine album. One of my favorite is the duet by Alka & Abhijeet "Koi Phool". Abhijeet is such an excellent singer. But these days he seems like is concentrating his energies in singing, he does have a very beautiful voice, he is into lots of controversies. Too bad ...

Is it possible to release Daulat Ki Jung (1992), if you do not mind as you had said you would at leisure?
