Dil Hi To Hai (1963)
Here is another Nutan-Raj Kapoor starrer. Except for "Aanri" which was a super hit, none of the other movies starring them fared any better. Movies like "Kanhaiya" and "Chhalia" that preceded this didn't do that well. This movie also like the other two was a commercial failure. But like other movies, this movie also was a resounding success musically speaking. There are some beautiful songs with Asha and Manna Dey dominating the proceedings along with Mukesh and Suman Kalyanpur. Manna's "Laaga Chunri Mein Daagh" is a perennial favorite. So is Asha's song "Nigaahen Milaane Ko". There are altogehther 10 songs in this album. Because of their lengths, I will upload them in two back to back postings. Now for a description of the first five songs and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) ![]() ![]() |

Thanks! I have all of these in my collection but the quality of these in your upload is phenomenal. "Dil Hi To Hai" was a great one for Roshan almost as good as "Barsaat Ki Raat."

Ek Dil Sau Afsane (1963)
Shankar & Jaikishan do it again. As usually is the case of their movies. there are some beautiful songs in this movie. All solos by Mukesh are great. The song by lata, "Door Ke Chandaa", is a really sweet one. Rafi gets to sing a song for Raj in this movie. His duet with Lata "Tum Hi Tum Ho" is a standout of this album. Here is a description of the songs and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) ![]() ![]() |

Dulha Dulhan (1964)
Here is another Raj starrer where the saving grace was its music. This time it is the turn of the music director duo, Kalyanj & Anandji. Almost all songs were popular when the movie was released. Even today, some of the songs haven't lost their charm. There are eight songs in this album. I am uploading all of these. I also got several extended versions of these songs. Most of these are by the courtesy of the Forum members. I will upload these in my second posting following this. Now for the details of the songs and the songs themselves ... "mujhe kahate hai.n kallu qawwaal" is a duet between Lata and Mukesh. Is there a solo version by Lata or is it just a typo in the singer attribution in your list?
Warm regards, Abhay This post has been edited by abhayp: Mar 6 2009, 08:30 AM |

Warm regards, Abhay Abhay, this was an error on my part in assignments. I have corrected the credits to rectify the situation. Thanks for keeping me honest. Cheers. |
