A few days ago, this song was discussed in Lata section.
My recollection is that it was composed by Shankar-Jaikishan for Rajhath (or Raj Haath), a 1956 movie. However, it did not appear in Rajhath. It was later used in Do Gunde. Same producer made both movies.
Members who have access to Geet Kosh, please clarify.

According to the CD released by EMI(England) associate of HMV---CD # PMLP 5763) issued in 1993, also says that this song is for movie RAJHAT (1956)-Music Shanker Jaikishen. I understand that this CD is reproduced from LP(33 1/3 rpm) released earlier by HMV (India).

Probalby this song must have been played in the movie DO GUNDE, which I have not seen.

If we remeber one such instance, it was Ghar Ki Izzat (1948)--music by Govind Ram and in this movie a song is played in the radio and it was taken from Moive "ZAMANA" (1938)--- Aye dard zara dam le karwat to badalne de--sugn by Amir Bai Karnataki---Music by Sunder Das Bhatiya
