Swarapriya, The missing song sounds like another version of 'dil toh razaamand hai' song. I am posting the song lyrics so that other members can recognize it and post the song. The following lyrics is taken from ISB. ( bhaTak ga_ii kis raah na jaanuu.N pyaar kii galiyaa.N naa pahachaahuu.N ) \-2 ( sai.nyaa tujhe paa_uu.N kahaa.N jiyaa bahalaa_uu.N kahaa.N kaho ab jaa_uu.N kahaa.N ho ) \-2 dil to razaamand hai, phir bhii zabaa.N band hai kaise kahuu.N mujhako meraa baalamaa pasand hai dil to razaamand hai ( kis sautan sa.ng laagii najariyaa bhaTak gayaa kis raah sa.Nvariyaa ) \-2 ( teraa pataa jo paa_uu.N binaa pa.Nkh u.D aa_uu.N duniyaa se chhiin laa_uu.N ho ) \-2 ( dil to razaamand hai, phir bhii zabaa.N band hai kaise kahuu.N mujhako meraa baalamaa pasand hai ) \-2 dil to razaamand hai Exon It appears that they are one and the same song. I will wait for other suggestions before changing my write up. Cheers. -S |

I think they are two different versions. It is not because of the starting lines; but even the stanzas don't match.
I have the song audio, 3:01min; likely similar to your uploaded audio. It has the following two stanzas. 1) dil chup raha gayaa hole hole dol ke ... 2) aaj nazar kahin ... The above stanzas are different from the ISB lyrics that I posted earlier. Exon This post has been edited by Exon: Oct 29 2008, 06:47 AM |

Do Ustad (1959) Here is another winner from OP. The twist is that here Rafi Saab is singing all the songs for Raj Kapoor. Remember this was in 1959. Raj Kapoor, Mukesh, and Shankar-Jaikishan were at the top of their popularity during this time. Only OP can do this and get away magnificently with it. There are eight songs in this album. Most of them are duets by Ashaji and Rafi Saab. The extended version of the song "Nazron Se Teer Maare" is by the courtesy of the Forum members. Now for details of the songs and the songs themselves ... Swarnapriya - Thank You for all these "Opee"s numbers ![]() If possible can you please re-upload songs of Do Ustad (1959) - missed them ![]() |

Khoon Ka Badla Khoon (1978)
This is one OP's albums post Asha era. He was desperately looking for someone to take Ashaji's place and in the process experimented with few. In this movie he had the greatly talented Vani Jairam sing all nine songs; four solos and five duets. Even though Vaniji is a very talented and trained classical singer (remember her debut song "Bolo Re Papihara" from Vasant Desai's "Guddi" in 1971?), I am not sure about the results here. Vani Jairam was born in a music-oriented family. She was a child prodigy and many expected great things from her. She was trained in the nuances of classical singing and by early teens she was an expert at many of the ragas. In a private concert, Vasant Desai spotted her and invited her to sing in Hrishikesh Mukherjee's "Guddi". She sang all three songs in that movie. But it was the song "Bolo Re Papihara" that catapulted her to overnight fame. This song fetched her several awards. Among them were Tansen Samman award, The All India Cinegoer's Association award, The Lions International Best Promising singer award, and The All India Film-goers award. Vaniji sang in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marwari, Hariyanvi, Bengali, and Tulu. She won Best Female Playback Singer awards from Tamilnadu (1980), Gujarat (1975), and Orissa (1984). She won President's award three times. For "Meera" she won awards from Film World, Cine Herald, and Filmfare. She was also awarded Sangeet Peeth Samman award. The list goes on and on ... This highly accomplished singer recorded over 10,000 songs to her credit! Yet, with all the credentials she possesses, and with ample proof of singing so many songs in so many different languages, it appears that people hardly know much about her. Now for the details of the songs from this album and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) ![]() ![]() |
