I wish both were full songs. 'sej' has a nice tune.

The names of the singers for the songs in 'Pagle' have always driven me crazy.

-- The two songs in which Talat featured : kyon shikwa... and taron se ab... the name of the male singer used be announced in SLBC as Sheri, perhaps the name of the actor who featured.

-- The name of the female singer in taaron se ab... used to be often announced as Begum Para. Is there a second version?

-- In aaj ke Laila.... Mukesh is accompanied by two other male singers. The names I used to hear for these two singers are Sheri & Jagirdar and sometimes Agha and Jagirdar. Even for the song kyon shikwa... these 3 names used to come together.

-- tum mera dil... and aye dil unhen... are by Begum Para

-- balma tere bina chain... is supposed to be by Cuckoo (? the dancer actress ?) and Krishna Kumar (?), but the female voice resembles Surinder Kaur's. The male voice is definitely not Mukesh's.

-- o balam chhotisi jaan meri... is by Juliet (?)

Balaji,

In yesteryears it was not unusual to give names of Artists
or their character names on 78rpm labels. The SLBC
announcers were obviously announcing the singers' name/
names from record labels. The Geetkosh also took the
singers names from catalogs of recording company.
A few of the song files I managed to get, had somewhat
distorted sound and probably were a bit slow than normal
speed. The singers as they sound to my aged ears are as follows,
but feel free to disagree:

1.AYE CHAAND MOHABBAT .. Rajkumari

2.AYE DIL UNHEN .. Rajkumari

3.BAALMAA TERE BINAA... Zohra Ambalawali

4.O BALAM....NAINON KE TEER ... Zohra Ambalawali

5.TAARON SE AB.. Talat, RajKumari

6.TAQDEER HANSI.. Talat, RajKumari

7.TUM MERAA DIL.. Rajkumari

8.YE AAJ KE LAILA... Khan Mastana Mukesh [Talat ?]
9.KYUN SHIKWAH KAREN ... Mukesh , Khan Mastana [Talat ?]

In 8 and 9, there may be a third singer and he may be
Talat. A reference to Talat GeetKosh might help.
