I just listened to "ki mai.n jhuuTh boleyaa" (Jagte Raho) to remind myself of Balbir's voice, and it does indeed seem to be Balbir in this song too. So now we have Geeta, Shamshad, Rafi, and Balbir - wonder if there are any other voices hidden in there!  Warm regards, Abhay |

I am not fully convinced that it is Chitragupta; it could as well be Balbir. I am not familiar with singers from the 40s and 50s. I tried to listen to a few songs by Balbir and Chitragupta; still not sure. I thought I got the information from HF archive. But it was from a post in another discussion group on the net. Warm regards, Abhay I was listening to the song over and over again trying to identify the unknown male singer. Realized that what a lovely composition Chitragupt ji has come up with. The song begins on a slow and soft note and then picks up the tempo. Geeta ji's (relatively) softer voice plays perfect foil to the slight nasal (and so sweet) voice of Shamshad ji. For Shamshad ji's voice, I could not find a word better than "Thasakedaar" in Marathi. LOL..dont know how to translate in English. And of course Mohd Rafi sahab's singing is divine.
