There are a lot of great songs in this movie. It was one of those that defined Madan Mohan Kohli's place in Moviedom. The 2 that were most popular and heard most on Paan stands were "Ae dil mujhe bata de" & "Kadar jaane Naa."

Around the time of release of this movie I was living in Patiala. I remember some beggars there would often sing this song to earn their keep. I used to think that was a sort of intimidation on their part to coerce people to give them alms. Hi
The reason for my lack of regular participation on this website is twofold. First my old computer's hard drive crashed and I replaced it with an Apple computer. I am now learning Apple computer system at a leisurely pace. Then within a month of above, my old computer's new external hard drive also crashed. I have been able to retrieve almost all the songs but with limited information on many of those songs.
