Your comment got me into a half serious mood thinking of an almost forgotten Urdu shair.
" ??? ne nikamma kar diya warna aadmi to the ham bahut kaam ke'.
In Punjabi a few years ago I read something like this.
" Bandya hunde si put asseen Jat de dinde si dalaan nu morh. Hun dhaldi umre aan ke tinka na sakde torh." Harjinder

The singer is Asha (one of her best songs IMHO) and the MD was SK Pal or possibly Khemchand Prakash who was the original composer selected for Tamasha but passed away before completing the soundtrack.
