Hi every one
I am requesting all Punjabi folk music aficionados to please post any of these real folksy folk songs from the 1950's. I remember in my childhood listening to them on radio or loudspeakers. A partial list:
1. Deke dil pardesi nu tainu nit da rona pai joo ga.
2. Klahriya mora wey main na tere rehndi ( Heer taunting Saida in Kissa Heer Ranjha)
3. Meenh barse bijli kadke bhij gaiyan nannane pooniyan.Nee main ro pi banna wich khadke bhij gaiyan nannane pooniyan (Heer discussing her state of mind with Sehti in Kissa Heer Ranjha)
4. Jad kache ghade te tarna marno ki darna (Sohni Mahiwal).
It would be a real treat to listen to them again after so many years. Harjinder

Thanks for the link to an intriguing song. I was pleasantly surprised by the use of word 'Chait' in the song. Chait is a month in Hindu/Sikh calendars like Saka and Bikrami. Harjinder
P.S. In an informal way Chait is the first month of the (Desi) Indian calender. The twelve months are named (Punjabi names):-
Chait,Vaisakh, Jeth. Harh,Saun (or Sawan).Bhadon.Assu, Katta, Maghar, Poh,Magh, and Fagan. H.S.Dh.
