You are welcome. I know the songs I have posted are popular ones but where are all those Punjabi music aficionados ? I too have watched and listened many times to this rendition of Bulle Shah's famous kaafi by Rabbi Shergill. By the way I have downloaded almost all of your uploads but I get a little careless when it comes to thanking contributors like you. I hope you and others will forgive this transgression of mine. A traditional Punjabi tune. Many years ago I remember listening to a religious ballad by Dhadhi Amar Singh Shaunki with pretty much the same tune. The words of that ballad started with' Chithiyan dard diyan likh Satgur wal paayian'. A similar tune is used by some singers to sing the legend of 'Mirza Sahiban', Kuldip Manak's version of that tune is available on You Tube at the address given below.

Does anyone know where I could get the films Laarey, Pheray and Sakshi Gopal? I have been trying but with no luck. The songs seem to be readily available but I am in a emotional search for these movies. Any help would be appreciated.

In the coming weeks I intend to post most of 'Laarey' and 'Pheray' songs on this thread. For movie tapes or Dvd's you may try a Pakistani website Mazhar.dk and another website 'Apna.com' also has many Punjabi songs and some Punjabi movies from the 1950's.' You Tube' is another source for some old movies and video songs. Harjinder
