Right on spot. These above 2 songs are among very few songs of Lata ji which I like from the seventies.

IMHO, every lyricist, MD, singer was at his/her best from 1946 to 1965 the most... Even movies from obscure movies are gems. Case in point, Chitragupt, Avinsah Vyas, Bulo C Rani, Khayyam, Hansarj behl, S Mohinder to name a few MDs.

Cheers
Parag

Absolutely I agree with you Parag...And after we hear them, we tend to compare them with the later ones...But with time, we understand how some of the beautiful songs have come up in Seventies too.. smile.gif With age, We mellow too..it seems..
Only last week one of my brother's friends, in his late fifties sat with me and wanted those songs of Lata from Seventies..He says that they are so good.. they bring so many beautiful memories..can you believe it...he made me copy that song " yeh dil aur unki.." TWENTY times in a single Cd in audio cd format..so that he can play it in his car on long drives. !!!
And in sixties or fifties..Lyricists used to rule..Can you imagine a song like..Dekhi zamane ki yaari ...from Kagaz ke phool, coming in these days? Absolutely no tune...except the divine voice.and equally divine Lyrics..
smile.gif

Chup gaya koi re...Door se pukar ke..
Dard anokhi hai...degaya pyar ke..
Aaj ki sooni sooni dil ki yeh galiyaan..
Bangaya kaantein mere khushiyon ki kaliyaan..
Pyar bhi khoya maine ..sab kuch haar ke..

Wah..Wah... smile.gif

Meri wafaayein tumhari jafaayein
aansoo likhenge fasana mere pyaar ka
haaye re haaye re jaan kyon na jaaye re
kya rakha hai jeene mein jalthe
aansoo peene mein...

LOvely song by Asha bhonsle >>>Amanat

"The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen,
nor touched...but are felt in the heart."

Far, very far, into the world of the farthest beyond
My hope carries me and places me
On the sweetest lap of the unknown.
There i behold my self-form
In the Dance-Delight of the Absolute

Every Night and every Morn
Some to Misery are born
Every morn and every Night
Some are born to sweet Delight
Some are born to Endless night

Khayalon Mein Kisike Is Tarah Aaya Nahin Karte
Kisiko Bewafa, Yun Tadpaya Nahin Karte

Dilo Ko Raundh Kar Dil Apna Behlaya Nahin Karte
Jo Thukraye Gaye Hon, Unko Thukraya Nahin Karte

Lovely lyrics by Kedar Sharma, backing the music of Roshan and the voices of Geeta Dutt and Mukesh.

Naino Mein Darpan Hai
Darpan Mein Koi
Dekhun Jise Subah Shaam

Bolo ji bolo
Ye Raaz Kholo
Ham Bhi Sune Dil Ko Tham
Ya To Hai Dharti Ya Hai Gagan
Ya To Hai Suraj Ya Hai Pawan
Uska To Sajan Hai Naam...
