Can any one upload this Lata-Mukesh duet:

I had this song on a cassette long back (20 years ago). Heard it many many times.
I somehow lost that cassette. I still remember the words (please correct me in case of an error)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chandaa re mori patiyaaN le jaa, saajan ko pahooNchaa de re ...
Woh likh sakeiN jawaab, unhe tu, meraa pataa bataa de re ...

(Lata)
PalakoN ki hai kalam banaayi
KaaJal beh kar bani siYaahi
Kaise LikhooN kahaani gham ki?
Tu hi mujhe bataa de re

(Mukesh)
Hum Khush hai gham diyaa hai tooneiN
Yeh ehesaan kiyaa hai toonieN
Jahaa raho, khusH raho, meri iss
Du_aa kaa asar dikhaa de re

(Both)
O aakaash ke sundar darpan,
Tu hi sajani tu hi saajan
Bichchade diloN ko, phirse milaa de
Rotaa chaman haNsaa de re

(Lata)
Chandaa re mori patiyaaN le jaa, saajan ko pahooNchaa de re ...
Woh likh sakeiN jawaab, unhe tu, meraa pataa bataa de re ...

Chandaa re ...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, but i do not know any more details about the song.

Thanks in advance.

I believe it is from Banjarin (1960). But, I don't have the song.
I searched and found that this song was uploaded in Oct. 2006 by Lakshmi.
Let's hope, she can locate it for us.

I have the song (CD and AC), but it's the truncated 2:37 mins version, missing the last verse and the end. Did you still want it? If so I'll do the needful.

Talaikya sahab,
Please upload the CD quality song. Waiting eagerly.
I have the song but which is similar counting to 2:35, thus definately missing the last part. Anyway thanks in advance for the upload.
Amod,
What a song you have come across. This is a beautiful song and needs to be uploaded.

Ooops I u/l it @ 128 (as is my usual practice), did you want it @ 160? Then I'll replace the file.
I have been meaning to congratulate you on this wonderful thread.
I have been staying away from it because I don't have the time of late and I know I'd really get embroiled in this one.

T-Ji (behenji ?). I think this is easy.
Many thanks for the song. 128kbps does not matter much as long as the original is from CD. I heard it and it is definately better than mine.
Thanks for appreciating the "Lataji's Awesomes.." thread. Indeed, many friends have contributed exquisite songs to this thread making them available to HF members. Hope you get more time to enjoy it. I have been amazed with your Tandem thing as well. You have done and are doing a great job there. Please keep it up.

Talaikya ji,

Thanks a lot for the 'Chandaa re ..." song.

Sanjay,

The version of the song i had on the cassette was from the original sound track and it had 3 stanzas.
Never mind that, listening to the song after all these years was a fantastic experience.
I could appreciate it much more today, than what i did years ago.

And Lataji's voice is SUPREME (period)

Amod,
I agree on Lata's supremacy, but at the same time would give great credits to Mukesh, Lyricist and MD as well. Its an absolutely poetic, harmonious duet. Everything has come together to form a perfect blend. Anyway, thanks for triggering Lata's great duets in this thread.
I am just tempted to get to this duet below where I believe Lata is again in supremacy mode (same comments for other as above). I am sure you all will love this song as well.
Singers: Lata & Mahendra Kapoor
Song: Aaj madhuvatas dole (3:09, 160kbps)
Film: Stree (1961)
Lyrics: Bharat Vyas
Music: C Ramchandra

Enjoy

Sanjay,

Thanks for this lovely duet. These days, we hardly find such slow, soft melodies.

Hari Ram,
You are most welcome. I have a strong feeling that we have the same liking as far as the music is concerned. Indeed, we should be lucky to appreciate and enjoy the olden golden beauties as I somehow do not think someone will ever (re-)produce such gems.

Sanjay,

Yes, we have very common taste for these golden oldies. I like all singers songs.
Last two days, I don't know how many times I listened to this Stree song and the Bhanjarin song.
The Stree song's tune has good similarity (though tunes are different) to a famous Kannada song.

I look forward to some more of these gems in this thread.

T is fine too you know smile1.gif

You are very welcome, it is but a small token of gratitude I am able to offer in return for all the generosity on offer at HF. smile.gif It surely would be wonderful if we could find the complete song in good quality down the line. I have been pleasantly surprised many a times on here.

Sanjay ji, as regards the quality - yeah I do try there, thank you for appreciating it. Ah the tandems... Lakshmi's thread is really going great guns with everyone pitching in isn't it? Glorious to see such team work.

It is one of my favorites too! I had re discovered it on HF, a friend had requested it and reminded me of it. Since then, I have been wanting to make a playlist - "Madhuvatas dole"... sometime soon I hope.
