Oh my god, Hari Ram you are absolutely right. I feel very sorry for my ignorance (mostly due to lack of time to attend everything) at other threads. This is my mistake and I appologize for that. I hope Deepak and other memebrs are not angree at me.

Hi Sanjay,

No need to feel sorry. I have noticed this sort of duplication many times. Sometimes, due to spelling differences, it is hard to find duplicates. I was about to download your file and then noticed that I already had the song. Your post will provide one more reminder for members about this lovely song.

It was the New Year's eve---I can't remember whether it was '84-'85 or '85-'86--- there was a recorded musical program on DD late in the evening featuring Noorjehan and other veterans like Dilip Kumar, Naushad, Rajkumari when the former visited India. She sang yahan badla... and aawaz de kahan hai... with the same authority but in the typical 'Pakistani' voice. Nitin Mukesh too sang some of his father's nos. I can't also recollect who sang Rafi's nos. It was great program altogether.

I too remember one old program being telecasted on PTV, in which Noor Jahan and Dilip sahab both participated. And Noor Jahan asks about Rafi sahab and says "Unhon ne itne pyare gaane gaye hain". I think Rafi-Noor Jahan could have been one of the best jodi if they stayed together.

thanks a million, no words to describe this song....

Ascorpio,
You are most welcome. Appreciate your good taste. Indeed, especially when Rafi sings songs like this one it can't be simply described in words. This one often finds place in my daily listenings.

Going through my depleted collection, re-discovered this not so common song that I've listened to maybe 15 times in the past couple of days and wanted to share...
