My new ranking of the top 4 is : 1.Nainon Mein Suraj Ki Kirane 2.Mere Dil Pe Laga De Darling 3.Chori Chori Ik Ishara and 4. Raaste Mein Ek Haseen. But, truly, all these four are nice. Venkat I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

I went through just like you, missed this song for decades, got it about 3 years ago (I was not HF member at that time). I realized the same thing you mentioned..it was a very dear old favorite of mine....and I then listened through the days/nights. I repeat "a perfect duet". While we fully praise Rafi & Suraiya, we should not forget to credit Husnlal Bhagatram for this one. I think one of the greatest abilities Rafi sahab had was to sing equally rich in low pitch and still remain naturally sweet. No one comes closer. Sanjkash |
