Members, if it is too much of DUKH, DARD etc for you, please let me know, and I will change my course.
Singers: Rafi+Lata
Song: Bhar bhar aayen ankhiyaan (3:11, 128kbps)
Film: Samraat Chandragupt (1958)
Lyrics: Bharat Vyas
Music: Kalyanji Anandji

Enjoy
Sanjkash

Sanjkash sahab, why would you say that? sad.gif
Aren't you the skipper here - you set the course that's best, we'll follow you.

Thanks very much for that duet from Samrat Chandragupt. All the songs from this movie are great favourites of mine, some more so. Like this one.
Did you ever get a chance to see the movie? Nirupa Roy was the female lead opposite Bharat Bhushan - to think there was a time when she was young and beautiful. From playing lead roles to being the star mother in the 70's - she was a consummate actress in every way. The dignity of her presence onscreen was something to watch and admire.

Sajdah (Ji)
Would you please drop "Sahab" etc and for that might I dare to not say "Ji"? (my real name is Sanjay).
Thanks for your great uploads. In fact, I love songs of all sorts (condition-they have to be really good, reach me, touch me, take me, move me). I do not collect everything. I love songs, some of 50's, many many of 60's to some extent of 70's and hardly any thenafter. The songs that I really loved, I avoided purposely to watch them on screens, just to keep my imagination, feeling around them (as sometimes it was horribly filmed, scened, acted etc which destroyed the good song/music).
Anyway, continuing on good song, a lovely duet, I felt adding this one which has a moderate DARD touch (members who have gone through some sort of PYAR will feel that). Hope you and members like it. I love it (takes me back to my PYAR days with the same intensity even today). I just realized this note getting bigger than usual, sorry for that.
Singers: Rafi+Suman
Song: Maine ai jaan-e-wafa tum se muhabbat kihai (3:23, 128kbps)
Film: Bedaag (1965)
Music: Roshan (who else otherwise)

Enjoy

Sanjkash Ji,

Thanks for this very nice Rafi-Suman duet.

Incidentally, you come across as a sweet guy. I like your unassuming posts and your sporting participation in various Rafi threads. For example, you have uploaded the very nice "Tere Hum O Sanam" song from Bachpan in Kamala Ji's thread and were saying that you were humming and whistling it throughout the day and that you are very good at that. I am sure you must be. Also shows how genuine and committed a music-lover you are!

Keep it up.

Venkat

I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

Sajdah Ji,

Even this is a very nice song, as I realised after d/ling! Excellent work. Keep it up, but in smaller doses, to enable proper assimilation!

Venkat

PS. BTW, could you inform/remind me of the other nice songs from this Film?

smile.gif Of course i will, on one condition, that is if you in turn would trim the 'ji' after my name too. tongue1.gif

Thanks very much for that soulful duet Sanjay. Roshan is among my most favourite composers. And i would agree with what you said about the picturisation of certain songs being a complete disappointment.
It's very tempting to give instances, but i guess i shouldn't. This thread might turn into a veritable battle-field, and that's something to be avoided if possible. wacko.gif
