Because reality is an illusion and truth is only relative and there is apparently no absolute truth. So what/who is on and off course depends on the perspective — whose truth do you want? Do you want the traveler's truth or the bystander's truth? If you seek the absolute truth no person can attain it. Only God knows the absolute truth. Just some rambling cogitations.

Sajdah:

You are right. There can be no problem for an mp3 file especially so for such a fantastic number as "Yeh Kis Ki Ankhon Ka". A big thank you for this song, which is one of my favorites.

The problem is with the following wma file for which license needs to be acquired through a Napster program and I am too scared to d/l'g the program because I could be attracting viruses and/or spywares. It would be a good idea if you could convert the file to a mp3 one if possible. Thanks.

Sure Binod ji, i'll be happy to u/l the file in MP3 format for you.

I would do it right now, but the server isn't letting me - wonder why. sad.gif

But i'll try later today.

Sajdah

Here it is Binod ji - in MP3 just like you wished for. I like to keep my word at all times. tongue1.gif

The audio quality is just great too. And not because i u/led it
. ninja.gif

Sajdah:

No need to type "ji" after my name. It is just a waste of time and typing effort. Reminds me of a sterile "office" environment and I would like to think that we are here in a warm family/friends environment, especially when it is winter time here in Canada.

Thanks for the song. I actually bought this song some years back on the internet but just imagine how cheated I felt when I discovered that it was protected against conversion to a different format. So I had to record it into a wave format before converting it into a mp3 file and the resultant quality was not that great too. Thanks again.

Binod.

sad.gif I do understand what that must have felt like, after going to all that trouble too. I am only glad i could be of help.

ohmy.gif Oh, I couldn’t call you by your first name Binod ji, that would be like me presuming to be equals with you – which I am not and won’t ever be.
And although you say that adding the ‘ji’ is just a waste of time and effort - It’s not like that at all for me.

People in the West have become too accustomed to being addressed by their first names by kids half their age. Even grandkids. Mercifully that hasn’t trickled down here yet. Some traditions are worth preserving.

Regards

Sajdah

Binod ji did you ever watch Akira Kurosawa’s Oscar winning movie Rashomon ?
Even if you say you haven’t, you pretty much wrapped up the entire story line of the movie in that post.

I quote you, “Truth is relative”, indeed it is – does that mean we have no use for it in our daily lives ?
If it all depends on each individual’s "perception", then what would that leave the world with – chaos ?
Sure, the Absolute Truth might be beyond the reach of an ordinary human, but that shouldn’t stop him from pursuing it, should it ? The temptation to do that is always there ( It is the easiest way out ) – but then where would we humans be without constantly challenging ourselves ?

The ‘Truth’ is everyone needs a dream or (dreams - ever impossible ones ) to aspire to, to light the lamp of Hope and to hold the flame steady till the time we finally live up to those dreams. Civilization as we know it today wouldn’t have reached this far if we didn’t keep evolving and challenging the impossible.

Attaining the Absolute Truth is achievable for those who work towards it with devotion. But then the question arises would knowing the Absolute Truth help an individual fit within the hedonistic, narcissistic society that we humans have build for ourselves ? Again the sad ‘Truth’ is no.

There is plenty of Truth in your post Binod ji – I do recognize it. And yet when you say that reality is illusion ( maya) – I have to disagree. Pain - physical pain, hardships, grief, those are real, not imagined – ask the ones who are going through them, then you’ll have the answer whether that’s all just an illusion or the actual reality.

On a personal level, Truth is what stops us ( human kind in the general sense ) from going completely the savage way. Each one of us is answerable to our inner Truth code at the end of the day – which I suspect is the same for the entire human species. Or we wouldn’t have people willing to own up to crimes they committed and which they had every intention of carrying to their grave. Why do you think they did that ? Because, like most everyone else it is easier for a person to live ( die ? ) with a clear conscience which incidentally cannot be said to be mutually exclusive from the clause “The Truth shall set thee free”.

Binod ji, this forum could use more of your “rambling cogitations” – I hope you have a lot to spare for us.
Oh and we are having a spell of beastly weather too, sad.gif though nothing like in Canada. I'll accept your word for it. tongue1.gif

Sajdah:

Brilliant and profound reply. Though I had a lot to say I will resist the temptation to do so because this is not a philosophical forum.

As far as movies are concerned I hardly have the time to watch any. Sometimes my children bring home the serial "House" which I watch with them.

When I do use other people's ideas I try and internalize them and blend them with my own limited experience and knowledge. For the time being let us leave it at that.

I try to follow that too. Not sure how successful I am though.

As for movies, I used to be an avid movie goer at one time, now I’ve almost given it up, just manage to catch the must-see ones whenever I can, that’s all.

Binod ji, I would have loved to continue this interesting discussion ( It’s not often that you run into someone on the Net who is genuinely interested in talking philosophy ), but as you cautioned me this is really not the place for it. I agree.

How about if I u/l some philosophical songs then ? Here are two of them – it would be an injustice to call them my favourites there being too many deserving ones.

Sajdah Ji,

Thank you for both the songs ... Do you have any more Rafi Sahabs songs from the same movies ? ( if they exist)
except ' Kahin Chal Na De Ye Raat Ka Kya Thikana ' from Ek Shola ( I only have that one )

Also thanks a lot for the Pyar Bana Afsana song too.
